Crown Chakra – Sahasrara

The Sahasrara or Crown Chakra is the 7th chakra in the chakra system and is located at the top of the head (Where a babies soft spot is located). The function of the crown chakra is to connect you to the Divine force in the Universe through the drawing in of cosmic energy. Through the crown chakra we recognize our own divinity and gain an understanding that we are really spirits having a human experience.

The thousand petals of the crown chakra represent the full blossoming of consciousness. The crown chakra contains the seed of all Vrittis – “waves” or “ripples” of disturbance, and all of their meanings and expressions. It is said that the crown chakra is the final seat of consciousness, once a person has reached this level they have mastered themselves and have obtained a whole new level of wisdom and knowledge that goes beyond the third eye.

The energy of the crown chakra is the energy of bliss, wholeness, and completeness. The knowledge and intuition that is received to the third eye is now fully understood, making that knowledge a part of your whole being. The crown and the root chakra are polar opposites, as the root chakra keeps us grounded to the Earth and the crown keeps us connected to the Divine, both connections are necessary for us to be on this planet. Through the crown chakra we recognize all elements of creation as a part of ourselves and we no longer feel disconnected from the elements of creation as we become one with them. Once this chakra is fully awakened self realization occurs and any remaining blockages in the lower chakras dissolve, vibration on the highest frequency becomes available.

Once a person has fully awakened their crown chakra they may feel as if they have awakened from a long dream. The crown chakra allows one to go beyond the limits of their own ego and gain access to a level that some call the “Akashic records”. This chakra is both a receiver and giver of energy and consciousness, it receives energy to sustain life and it gives back the personal energy to unite with the collective pool of consciousness. It is the meeting point between finite (the body and the ego) and infinite (the universe and soul). Having access to higher Universal cosmic knowledge they become a Guru or teacher. Having developed the the ability to direct their intention within, they become their own guru or teacher and any questions they still may have, they trust that the answers will reveal themselves in divine time. Fear of death is no longer present, as it is understood at this level of consciousness that in death one transitions back into the divine being they once were. The trivial things of life no longer phase them as they no longer resonate with of the 3D Matrix reality, they are able to see those things for the illusion that they are. Once the crown chakra has awakened it does not form any blockages, it is either active or inactive. Development and growth of the crown chakra is a life long pursuit.

Closed/Blocked Crown Chakra

Someone with a closed or blocked crown chakra, will be disconnected from their spirit and the Divine. They may feel as if something is missing from their lives, but will not know exactly what it is. They will be plagued by life’s questions and will often need guidance from other enlightened beings to give them the self assurance they are lacking from their own crown chakra. Lacking knowledge of the Divine and of their own divinity, they fear death and see death as an end rather than as a transition into a new paradigm. Without fully awakening the crown chakra, the chakra system will constantly be shifting from balanced to imbalanced. To ensure that your entire system is balanced, opening of the crown chakra is very important, all seven chakras in harmony are necessary for access to your full power and over all growth.
