Third Eye Chakra – Ajna

The Ajna or Third Eye Chakra is the 6th chakra in the chakra system and it deals with the subconscious mind. While a person’s two eyes see the physical world, the third eye is believed to reveal insights about the future. The third eye chakra is said to connect people to their intuition and give them the ability to communicate with the world. The 2 petals of the third eye chakra represent the nadis (psychic channels) Ida and Pingala, which meet the central Sushumna nadi before rising to the crown chakra.

The Ajna or Third eye chakra is the chakra associated with broader perception and access to higher levels of thinking. This is where we perceive and discern the truth from a lie. It is where we achieve self realization and self authority, which are both fundamental principles of knowing ones self. Through development a persons third eye can become much sharper, which is believed to give them a higher level of thinking and perceiving. Third eye development is believed to deepen a persons level of intuition which will make them more creative and a bit unorthodox as they no longer have the desire to “fit in” but only to be their most authentic self. Dreams are more vivid and deep and they tend to have higher levels of spiritual awareness. This is important because part of the function of the third eye chakra is to break down the knowledge and wisdom received from the crown chakra so that they can be understood by you at your level of conciousness. Through development you will be able to perceive things that others can not. This is because a person with a developed third eye will be on a totally different frequency than most other people, like living in a different reality, they see the world like a horse that has had its blinders removed. The way to develop your third eye is through feeding it with knowledge of the Divine, the Self and the World and the Universe.

Your perception and the way you perceive are heavily influenced by the harmony of the your lower chakras. The third eye chakra is closely connected to the throat chakra because we communicate and express the things we see. Your heart chakra is also closely linked your third eye because if your emotions and feelings are not balanced this clouds your judgement and ability to properly analyze the situation. Meditation plays a very important role in keeping the emotions balanced because it calms the minds and slows the breath. Through meditation the mind learns how to remain in a calm and focused state, which is what is required in order to access the abilities of the third eye chakra.

Closed/Blocked Third Eye Chakra

Someone with a closed or blocked third eye chakra will not beable to perceive anything that is outside the physical/3D realm. They will reject anything that suggest otherwise, their consciousness is within a box and they are unable to think beyond the confines of that box. Over time they get comfortable in their box and may even resort to attacking anyone that tries to even suggest a reality outside of their perceived comfort zone. They are unable to self-reflect and see past illusions and are in a sense disconnected from the Universe. Since a person with a closed or blocked third eye chakra can not perceive correctly on their own they have a tendency to blindly follow the powers that be. One reason for this is because their vision is dominated by their lower chakras, making their thoughts clouded by mis-aligned perspective, some of them may not even be their own thoughts but because they have no knowledge of self they go blindly trusting and believing. They are often very closed mined and almost impossible to wake up.

Unbalanced Third Eye Chakra

Someone with an unbalanced third eye will posses high mental capabilities but their mind is stuck in a rational way of thinking. They can only accept things to be real that come with “receipts”, “Show me the science to back what your saying” is their motto for everything. They can think out side of the box but their perception is limited to the natural realm. Anything outside of the material realm they refuse to believe or acknowledge its existence. They may even have some extra sensory perception capabilities but they refuse to believe what they see and sense. They have a tendency to be judgemental and overly analytical. They may even suffer from lack of clarity in thoughts and excessive daydreaming, causing them to feel mentally overwhelmed at times. Their chakra is overactive and distributing too much energy, in other words it is working in overdrive and clouding their judgement.

Balanced Third Eye Chakra

These people are your truth seekers, they know within themselves that there is more to life than what it seems and they intend to find the answers or allow the answers to find them. They will have all of the abilities of the third eye including higher mental capacity, intuition and possibly ESP. They are very humble and grounded because in order to harmonize the 3rd eye they will have to had mastered the lower level chakras. They are very sharp and have a keen eye, it is difficult to pull the wool over this persons eyes. A person whose third eye is fully opened will not have many close friends, as there are few people who are oppertaing on the same frequency as they are. They will be very knowledgeable and wise, as you must have a certain level of knowledge to understand what it is that you are perceiving. For example, someone who is a trained architect can see the perfections and imperfections in the design of a building or room of a building just by looking at it because they have extensive knowledge and experience in that field. On the other hand regular citizen Joe Blow will not be able to see the intimate details that create the difference between good and great work because they do not possess the knowledge and know how. A person with a balanced third eye understands that we live in a Universe whose principles are based on balance, inter-connection and a healthy dependency on one other to survive and as such their is no such thing as coincidence. Their belief is that everything happens for a reason and that the Universe will work with them through signs and synchronicities. For this reason a person whose third eye is active will come across as unorthodox others. They choose to follow the beat of their own inner drum and walk a path where they trust their own intuition to be their inner guidance system.

Once your third eye chakra opens up you will notice that you’ve become very calm and settled within yourself, which is needed in order to decode your reality and gain clarity. The gifts of the third eye are different from person to person but for sure once your third eye has fully awakened your level of consciousness will have fully transcended the constraints of the material world. Your ability to manifest and co-create your reality with the Spirit of God will begin to increase. Over time and with study you will become a very powerful manifestor. You will begin to realize that the only thing holding you back is your own imagination, beliefs, and discipline. The bible says that without a vision the people will parish, one of the most important gifts of the third eye is unlocking your vision and purpose which will unlock your Spirit and soul and set you free. One of the most valuable lessons that balancing the third eye chakra teaches is that displine and work ethic has made more dreams come true than your local mattress store ever has or ever will.
